Donald Trump refused to get off stage for Spain’s World Cup trophy lift and celebrations, eventually having to be almost dragged away by Gianni Infantino.
On Sunday evening, Spain overcame Argentina in the World Cup final thanks to an extra time goal from Ferran Torres.
Trump and FIFA president Infantino made their way onto the pitch for the trophy presentation after the game, where they were met with boos and jeers.
As the BBC’s Gabby Logan put it, it wasn’t the “warmest of receptions.”
The pair then handed the iconic World Cup silverware to Spain captain Rodri, who prepared to celebrate with his teammates and enjoy the highlight of his career.

However, just like when Chelsea won the Club World Cup last summer, Trump decided this was a moment for him to hog the limelight as well.
The Republican decided to linger in frame with the Spain team as they lifted the trophy, ignoring the efforts of Infantino to get him off stage.
After the Spanish players had their initial moment of celebration, Trump eventually walked off.
Reacting online, people slammed Trump as “foul”, “embarrassing,” and “disgusting.”
