England World Cup squad member Ivan Toney has been charged with assault following an incident at a nightclub in central London, as reported by Sky News and BBC News.
The 30-year-old, who plays as a centre forward for Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli, will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on the 24th September later this year, after he was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm on the 31st of July.
The charge relates to an incident that allegedly took place on Wardour Street in Soho, London on the 6th of December 2025.
A spokesperson for Toney said: “Ivan acknowledges the charge and although he is naturally shocked, he looks forward to being given the opportunity to clear his name in court.”
The Metropolitan Police said in a statement: “A man has been charged with assault following a Met investigation.
“Ivan Toney, 30 (16.03.1996), of Northampton, was charged on Thursday, 31 July with assault causing actual bodily harm.
“He will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 24 September.
“The charge relates to an assault, which reportedly took place on 6 December 2025 at a nightclub on Wardour Street, W1.”
