Farage ally Arron Banks complains about ‘no white faces’ at Heathrow

"Not sure you could find a more blatant example of outright racism than this."

Arron Banks has let the mask slip after he complained about there being not “one white face in security or airport services” at Heathrow.

Record Brexit-backer, key Nigel Farage ally and failed Reform mayoral candidate Banks has plenty to answer for for his role and influence in British politics over the last ten years.

Most recently, he has found himself at the centre of controversy over revelations that he had paid for private investigators to dig into the Conservative party chair Kevin Hollinrake and Times journalist Gabriel Pogrund.

And just in case you needed any more convincing about Banks’s character, he is now happily spouting bile about a supposed lack of ‘white faces’ working in airports.

In a post shared this week, Banks wrote: “Going through Heathrow today, there wasn’t one white face in security or airport services. The Home office is staffed by the type of people we are trying to keep out! What hope?”

The post, which Banks has since deleted, sparked widespread condemnation on social media, with several accusing him of “blatant racism.”

Arron Banks, one of Farage and Reform’s most prominent donors, exposing himself as the racist he is, before deleting the post.

This isn’t about immigration. It isn’t about illegal migration. He looked at British workers doing their jobs at Heathrow and decided they were the kind… pic.twitter.com/vmSy3RlIZ5

Tory MP Hollinrake said the comments were “shocking and disgraceful.”

What does this say to every non-white adult or child in this country?

Born here? Raised here? No matter. Told by a Reform supporter, donor and mayoral candidate @Arron_banks that they’re not welcome.

Mail on Sunday columnist Dan Hodges wrote: “There we go. One of Nigel Farage’s key allies. Eventually the mask slips. Not sure you could find a more blatant example of outright racism than this.”

Political commentator Don McGowan said the comment was “pretty racist, even for Arron,” whilst others suggested Heathrow staff might want to misplace Banks’s luggage.

I do hope the staff at Heathrow read this and lose his luggage. https://t.co/6HXrCXoTPU

This isn’t the only time a Reform figure has been accused of racism this month. Just last week, Reform’s home affairs spokesperson Zia Yusuf was condemned for comments he made about Labour’s candidate in the Holborn and St Pancras by-election.
