Donald Trump was heckled by a protestor calling him a “pedophile protector” as he spoke at a rally in Michigan.

The US president delivered a speech on Monday in which he attempted to lay out his economic credentials. From illogical tariffs to an economy-crashing war in Iran, it’s safe to say plenty of Americans are sick of the impact Trump is having on their bills.

But as Trump tried to convince his followers he was forging the right path ahead of crucial mid-term elections later this year, his speech was interrupted by a man in the crowd.

The individual repeatedly shouted “paedophile protector at Trump, in a reference to his friendship with convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and the belief from many in US politics – on both the left and right – that Trump’s administration has not been fully transparent in its handling of the Epstein files.

After initially ignoring the heckler, Trump eventually stopped his speech to call the man a “communist.”

“He’s a communist! We’re running against communists,” Trump said while his fans in the crowd chanted “USA! USA!”

This wasn’t the only interruption to Trump’s address, with a second group of hecklers unfurling a banner that read “Stop Data Centers” before being removed by security personnel.

The banner seemed to have been a reference to the recent executive order signed by Trump which accelerated federal permits for data centres to meet the huge power needs of AI.
