Andy Burnham continues to have an unrivalled approval rating among the British public as his polling success shows little sign of letting up.

Ever since Burnham replaced Keir Starmer as prime, the Labour party has seen a reversal of fortunes in the polls.

After languishing behind Reform for over a year, Labour have been top or joint-top of the polls carried out after Burnham became prime minister (12 out of 18).

And Burnham himself continues to have success on a personal level as well.

Polling carried out by Opinium for the Observer found that the Makerfield MP is the only party leader in the UK to have a net positive approval rating.

The poll found Burnham had an impressive score of +16, well clear of the next best leader Ed Davey on -4.

After that it was Tory leader Kemi Badenoch on -5, the Green’s Zack Polanski on -23 and Reform’s Nigel Farage on -25.

With another three weeks until parliament’s return after summer recess, Burnham is embarking on a national ‘cost of living’ tour in the coming days.
