Nigel Farage is now the least popular leader in British politics after his approval rating dropped to a record low.
Cast your minds back to the start of this year and Reform and Farage were riding high in the polls.
But now, the situation is very, very different thanks to a combination of Andy Burnham’s positive start to life as prime minister and persistent controversies of Reform and Farage’s finances.
This has taken its toll on both party and leader. Labour have managed to knock Reform off top spot in some polls, and Farage’s popularity is plumetting.
According to the latest leader approval ratings from More in Common, Farage’s net approval now stands at a disastrous -32%, his lowest with the pollster since the general election in 2024.

This puts him bottom of the pile, behind Zack Polanski (-24%) and Ed Davey (-11%).
The drop in popularity is all the more stark when you realise that a year ago, Farage was top of the leader approval ratings.
In August 2025, Farage had a net approval rating of -1 with More in Common, putting him well clear of Tory leader Kemi Badenoch and then-prime minister Keir Starmer.
As recently as January this year, Farage was also narrowly top of the approval ratings with a score of -9, putting him just ahead of Davey on -10.
The picture has completely changed now though, with Farage finding himself a huge 51 points behind Burnham, on an impressive +19, and 32 behind Badenoch, who breaks even.
