‘Democrats did a good job’ – Trump accepts election defeat for the first time in his life

The Democrats won so comprehensively in the midterms that even Trump can't try and deny these results.

There have been some surprising results in the US midterm elections after the Democrats regained control of the House of Representatives and the Senate. But perhaps the most shocking turn of events is this: Donald Trump is actually ACCEPTING the results.

Yes, the man who loves nothing more than claiming elections are stolen and invalid has realised that this defeat is so disastrous and comprehensive that even he can’t deny it.

Trump had asked Americans to vote as if he was on the ballot on Tuesday – and they did exactly that.

With 356 of the 435 House seats counted, the Democrats have already passed the magic 218 threshold to gain control of the lower chamber.

But the real story has come in the Senate, where the Democrats have won stunning victories in Republican strongholds such as Texas, Ohio and Kansas, whilst also winning every ‘swing’ state in play.

They’ve passed the 50 seats to gain control of the Senate, and currently have 53 seats to the Republicans’ 42.

The results are so resounding that, during an interview with Fox News in the wake of them, Trump conceded that the Democrats did a “good job.”

He acknowledged that his war in Iran and rising fuel prices played a role in the midterms.

He also told the New York Times that he is “absolutely willing to accept” the results.

Trump added: “We’ll work with the Democrats, and we’ll, you know, look forward to working with them. We’ll probably work something out.”
