Labour peer Thangam Debbonaire had absolutely no time for Sarah Pochin’s nonsense as the pair were involved in a feisty exchange on Sky News.
Debbonaire appeared alongside the Reform MP from the Makerfield by-election count in Wigan. The election was comfortably won by Andy Burnham, who secured his return as an MP and paved the way for him to challenge Keir Starmer for the Labour leadership.
But before the result was announced, Sky News decided to get the thoughts of Pochin and Debbonaire.

The pair were asked about several key topics, including immigration and Nigel Farage’s secret £5m gift from a crypto billionaire based in Thailand.
On many occasions when Reform’s representatives appear in the media, they are allowed to spout off any old nonsense without being challenged.
Not this time.
Debbonaire only had so much patience for Pochin’s interruptions, inflammatory narratives and false claims about migrants.
On more than one occasions, the Labour peer became exasperated with the Runcorn and Helsby MP.
She repeatedly explained to Pochin why there was such controversy over Farage’s £5m gift, factchecking her on claims that the Reform leader had to pay for his own security.
Debbonaire then reminded Pochin about her previous comments about people of colour appearing on TV.
Later in the hot-tempered discussion, Debbonaire was left pulling her hair out at Pochin’s ill-informed claims about migrants and asylum seekers.
She accused Pochin of only caring “about violence against women and girls when it’s committed by a brown person.”
Debbonaire condemned the MP for smiling during a discussion about violence against women, hitting out at her for only wanting to talk about the issue when it involves a person of colour.
Of course, Pochin is also the woman who this week urged the England football team to carry on winning at the World Cup so that there weren’t more instances of domestic abuse, and was schooled on some basic rules of government in parliament.
Maybe more people should treat her views and opinions with the same disdain as Debbonaire did.
