Unelected millionaire Zia Yusuf to make yet another Question Time appearance

No person has appeared more times on the Question Time panel since the last general election.

Zia Yusuf will make his fourth Question Time appearance of 2026 this evening when he appears on the panel of the BBC current affairs programme.

The public has never elected Yusuf to a position in politics. The public have never even had the chance to vote for the multi-millionaire and former Conservative Party member.

But ever since he became Reform’s chairman in July 2024 and then head of policy (with a two-day resignation sandwiched in the middle), Yusuf has become one of Reform’s main mouthpieces.

Through press conferences and controversial social media posts, Yusuf is arguably Reform’s most incendiary voice – something that the BBC seem to quite like.

This evening (19 October), the businessman will make yet another appearance on Question Time, when he appears on the programme alongside Labour’s Emma Reynolds, the Tories’ James Cartlidge, the Lib Dems’ Daisy Cooper and former Downing Street director of communications Alastair Campbell.

This will be the fourth time in 2026 that Yusuf has appeared on the show, the most of anyone. It will also be his ninth Question Time appearance since the 2024 general election, which is another record.

Reacting on social media, people have been left baffled as to why Yusuf is making another appearance on the programme.

Dear the BBC Question Time

Zia Yusuf? Again.

The party of eight MPs puts up an unelected money man for the ninth time in two years.

Any chance you could find someone else?

Thanks in advance. The UK. https://t.co/TPnCOHLqh5

It's funny that the unelected Zia Yusuf is making his ninth appearance on #bbcqt for Reform tonight, yet elected MPs Lee Anderson and Sarah Pochin haven't appeared once.
Why are Nigel Farage and Reform keeping them away from the cameras? 🤔 https://t.co/wxvVHUyiYj

Is this a joke?
This is the 8th time the unelected nobody Zia Yusuf has appeared on #bbcqt in just over 2 years.

Does Zia have a contract with Question Time?

He’s always on it then the following day he does a video moaning about the BBC and plays the victim

— Zara Hussain (@zarahussain999) October 28, 2026

Could you have a week where yusuf isn't on?

Yusuf’s previous appearances on Question Time haven’t tended to go brilliantly for him.
